What you’ll study

Laboratory classes based on the theory course 520213. One large or several small database applications are developed. Given the ER model or a description of a real problem, students design the ER model, convert it to a relational model using the features of relational database design — functional dependency, normalization — and finalize the relational model. They then implement it, designing the SQL statements, stored procedures, triggers and views required, with attention to query optimization, transactions, recovery and backup. Any database such as Oracle, MySQL or PostgreSQL may be used.
