Course outline
What you’ll study
The key objective is to introduce students to different peripheral devices (LED, 7-segment display, 16×2 LCD display, stepper, DC and servo motors) and sensors (temperature and light sensors), and how those devices are interfaced and controlled from a computer. After completing the course students can control peripheral devices from a computer through the computer's parallel port. They are also introduced to various micro-controllers (PIC 16F84, ATMEL) and are able to design micro-controller-based small embedded systems.
