What you’ll study

Introduction to e-commerce — e-commerce business models and concepts, payment systems, marketing techniques and applications (B2C, C2C, B2B), digital government and web security. Introduction to web engineering — web browsers and servers; the basic concepts of Google products (Search, Maps, Translate, Chrome, YouTube, Gmail, Drive, Docs, AdWords, AdSense, Analytics, Classroom) and Google algorithms (Hummingbird, Panda, Pigeon, Pirate and Penguin); the basics of on-page and off-page SEO. HTML and HTML5 — tag syntax and the core tags (DOCTYPE, title, meta, headings, link, image, table, list, audio, video, iframe, form elements and text-formatting tags). CSS and CSS3 — basic concepts, syntax, colours and the box model. JavaScript — variables, arrays, objects and functions. PHP and MySQL — programming basics, handling form input, connecting PHP to MySQL, queries to create databases and tables and to insert, select, update and delete data, data validation, sessions and security.
